Jaylan Evans was born on February 3, 1999, in Greensboro, North Carolina, making him 27 years old in 2026. His birthday places him under the Aquarius zodiac sign. His Greensboro roots are an important part of his biography because the city is where his early interest in performance developed and where much of his initial training took place.

Evans has described himself as a Southern man who was born and raised in Greensboro. His professional journey therefore began far from the major entertainment centers that later became part of his career. That background gives his story a useful sense of progression: local Performing Arts training eventually led to university study, professional Theatre, and finally international Streaming Television.

Jaylan Evans Early Life And Family

Publicly available information about Jaylan Evans’ private family life remains relatively limited. His professional biography says that he is one of five siblings and describes family as an important part of his life. His official biography also says that he enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, animation, fashion, and creative expression.

The available information is more detailed when it comes to his professional development than his parents or relationships. That distinction matters in a biography because it prevents speculation from being presented as fact. Evans’ story is already well documented through his education, acting work, and interviews, so there is no need to fill gaps in his private life with unsupported claims.

Jaylan Evans Education And Musical Theatre Training

Education played a major role in preparing Jaylan Evans for professional Acting. He trained at Weaver Academy for the Performing and Visual Arts, later studied Drama through the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and went on to Elon University, where he earned a Bachelor Of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre in 2020.

His time at Elon was particularly important. The university reported that Evans performed in Main Stage productions including Hello, Dolly!, American Idiot, and Once on This Island. He also balanced his academic workload with a part-time job in Campus Recreation & Wellness. This combination of classroom study and practical performance gave him experience that extended beyond traditional acting lessons.

His Classical Acting Training In London

During his university years, Evans studied Classical Acting in London through Theatre Academy London, a study-abroad program founded by Florida State University. His official biography says the experience deepened his interest in Stage And Screen Combat and Writing.

The London experience also broadened his understanding of performance. Evans has spoken through Elon University about the value of traveling and experiencing life in different places and cultures. For an Actor, that kind of exposure can provide additional material for understanding characters, relationships, and different ways of seeing the world.

Jaylan Evans Stage Combat Training

One of the less widely known aspects of Jaylan Evans’ education is his specialized Stage Combat training. While studying in London, he earned certification in Armed And Unarmed Combat through the British Academy of Dramatic Combat. His official biography states that he received the organization’s highest adjudication honor, Distinguished.

Stage Combat is more than learning how to make a fight scene look convincing. Performers must understand movement, timing, physical control, safety, and how action supports storytelling. For Evans, this training became another part of a wider performance toolkit that already included Musical Theatre, Classical Acting, Voice Work, and Live-Action Television.

How Did Jaylan Evans Start His Acting Career?

Jaylan Evans began gaining professional Theatre experience while he was still in college. His official biography identifies work with Pacific Conservatory Theatre, Flatrock Playhouse, and Playhouse on Park. His early stage work is important because it shows that his screen career did not appear overnight. Theatre gave him a practical environment in which to develop vocal control, movement, character work, and ensemble skills. His official biography also records that he originated the role of Skull in the world premiere of Punk Rock Girl! by Joe Iconis and Rob Rokicki, adding another stage achievement to his early career.

Jaylan Evans And The COVID-19 Career Challenge

Evans graduated from Elon in 2020, just as the COVID-19 pandemic caused major disruption across the Performing Arts industry. According to Elon University, he had been preparing for an audition trip to New York, but the pandemic changed those plans. Instead of stopping, he continued auditioning virtually and eventually signed with an agent and manager.

That period became an unusual transition point in his career. Traditional Theatre opportunities were heavily restricted, but Evans adapted to a new audition environment. His experience illustrates how his early professional years were shaped not only by formal training but also by the need to adjust to a rapidly changing entertainment industry.

Jaylan Evans In Spirit Rangers

Before becoming widely recognized as Skylar, Evans had already entered Netflix through animation. He voiced several characters in Spirit Rangers, an animated series about Native American siblings who secretly become Spirit Rangers and protect the national park where they live.

IMDb credits Evans with 14 episodes of the series between 2022 and 2024, including the characters Gem and Condor. TV Guide also lists him as voicing several additional characters. Jaylan Evans In Power Book III: Raising Kanan

Evans also appeared in the Starz crime drama Power Book III: Raising Kanan, playing the character Rayon. IMDb lists this as one of his recognized television credits, while other cast databases also identify Evans as Rayon.

Evans plays Skylar, one of the students who becomes part of Jackie’s new social circle.

The series premiered in December 2023 and quickly reached a broad international audience. Jaylan Evans Personal Life And Interests

Away from Acting, Evans’ public biography reveals interests in fashion, styling, travel, food, animation, and creative storytelling. He has described fashion as an important form of self-expression, while his official biography also notes his enthusiasm for cartoons and video games as forms of interactive entertainment.

He has generally kept the most private areas of his life away from the spotlight. For that reason, a reliable Jaylan Evans biography should focus on information that can be established through his own biography, interviews, university coverage, Netflix material, and professional credits rather than repeating unverified relationship or family rumors.

As of 2026, Evans’ career includes a substantial combination of Theatre, Animation, Television, Writing, and other creative interests.

The most useful way to understand Jaylan Evans is therefore not simply as the Actor who plays Skylar Summerhill.
